Twenty five years ago, we set out with a purpose. To do the impossible.
This was founded on an unshakable belief. That the impossible is what no one can do, only until someone does it.
In fact, every medical breakthrough once seemed an impossibility.
For twenty five years, at Amrita, we've been taking on the impossible. And doing it. Employing pioneering methods and techniques. Embracing ground-breaking practices and rapidly advancing technologies. Blazing trails all the time, for the rest to follow.
So that we keep on transforming the lives of people who come to us. Offering them care. Offering them hope. For a cure. For relief from pain. For a return home.
We keep on reshaping their future. Rewriting their life stories.
Driven by a will to overcome. And the courage to do the impossible.
Amrita Hospital has made sure to remain aligned with the latest in medical
advances, including Radixact, Tomotherapy H series, 256-slice CT scanner, 3 Tesla MRI Scanner,
interventional cath labs, and automated lab solutions.
We are pioneers in robotic surgery in India. These minimally invasive procedures increase precision and accuracy and decrease pain and recovery time, encouraging patients to opt for the technology.
Amma’s healthcare mission also reaches those who have no other way to afford treatment. When she was young, Amma dreamed of building a hospital where poor people could access high-quality healthcare in an atmosphere of love and compassion. As of December 2020, Amrita Hospitals have provided completely free treatment to 5.1 million patients and subsidised care to another 300,000 patients—a total of Rs.764 crore (US$104 million) in charitable medical care.
We have charitable territory centres at Andaman island, Mysore, Vayanad and Amritapuri, Kollam
Patient centricity and multidisciplinary approach form the foundation of the 17 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) at Amrita Hospital, Kochi. These centres consistently deliver excellent outcomes and outstading safety ratings. They bring the services of extremely brilliant and experienced physicians, surgeons, researchers, nursing, and other staff on one platform.

Kerala’s first telemedicine centre started by us in September 2002. This was set up with the help of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The telemedicine unit also conducts tele-surgeries linking remote doctors with expert surgeons during the procedure—Amrita Hospital, Kochi was India’s first to carry this out.
On May 4, 2009, it became part of India’s PAN-African telemedicine network, thus extending its services beyond India’s borders. The goal of this initiative is to bring digital health to every doorstep. The network’s main objective is to eventually provide adequate educational facilities and affordable healthcare to 53 nations of the African Union.
